Jolan'Tru visitor! I welcome you to the one and only Romulan Homepage for the WBS. The Romulans of the Star Trek Nexus bar have comprised this homepage for your general knowledge and to bring all the Romulans to gether and unite them under our symbol.
To begin with the Romulans are an off shoot of Vulcan descent. We left the homeworld over a Milenium ago, possibly in rebellion against Surak's new philosophy of logic and pacifism. Even though we were not for the logic, though we can be very tender and pacifist if not provoced. In general the Romulans are very curious, though we like to maintain our self-confidence if possible. Our homeworld is called Romulus and in the case if Romulus is over run the secondary homeworld is on Reemus.
A little more on our history. We made our first contact with the Federation in 2160 resulteing in the establishment of the Romulan\Federation Nuetral Zone and the Treaty of Algernon. Which states that no vessel may cross the Nuetral zone at all until further notice, and that the Federation was not permitted to work on cloaking technology.
Shortly after the signing of the Treaty of Algernon we made an alliance with the Klingon Empire and made various technological swaps. From ship designs to cloaking devices. After a few more years we went into isolation and made no contact with any race from 2311 and did not reemerge until 2364.
When we emerged from our isolation we had discovered that a reaty between the Klingons and the Federation was made. A opperative with the authority of the Imperial Senate by the name of Sela was given orders to desable the treaty for the treaty disrupted the balance of power not in the favor of the Romulans. From her, Pardek, and Neral's doings we were given the awful stereotype of treacherous. In which very few of us were. Some of the groups doings were the attempted assasination of Vagh, invasion of Vulcan , and the helping of the Duras sisters in the Klingon civil war.
After the klingon civil war ended and the Vulcan incasion flop the underground movement for a Republic and reunionation of Vulcan began its work to distabalize the government and make peaceful relations with Vulcans. Though this was unconclusive even with the help of Spock of Vulcan. After the Tal'Shiar had caught wind of the doings of the Republic movement the Republic Movement began to remove their higher operatives. One of these cases was when the Federations Counselour Diana Troi was kidnapped and assisted our military Sub-Commander N'Vek in the taking of Vice-Procouncil M'Ret to safety.
Though the Tal'Shiar finally found out about this they began arresting and executing Romulans in the Republic Movement. Then an leader stepped out. Ahrrael Jarok(myself) stepped out and the T'danis sector withdrew from the Empire. Of course the Romulans wouldn't take that but 50 loyal commanders in the Military took their vessels and protected the sector from the Tal'Shiar. One by one other sectors fell into place, and within three months 102 sectors wanted to join the Republic of Romulus. Though they were not going to just let us go. They couldn't take us by force so they would starve us out. They formed a blockade and destroyed all the vessels leaving the sectors. Even with the help of the new T'Lara class warship we couldn't suceed.
So a truce was set up...The Treaty of Reemus. This stated that the 76 sectors that had joined already could remain but the rest must stay under the control of the Tal'Shiar and the Senate. Not to long after the Treaty of Reemus was signed the tensions grew between other space nations and the two Romulan States. The Klingons were attacking the Romulan Star Empire, and the Republic was being bumbarded from Dominion attacks. After the assasination of the Praetor I descided that a reunification was in order. I sent a rough draft of the new government and its workings. Here is a brief explanation of it: The senate would be elected by the people in the sector he/she represented. If the people of a sector did not believe that the senator of their sector was not doing his job he/she could be recalled and a new one reinstated ( Though, it would be hard to recall a senator.). A Head of the Military was to be elected. His\Hear actual Title would be the Minister of External Affairs. Meaning he would be on of two ambassadors. Then he\she would choose the head of the Tal'Shiar. Though the Tal'Shiar, which was drastically changed to the police organization of the Romulan Empire, his title would be Minister of Internal Affairs. The Tal'Shiar said that if 3/4 of the Romulan Territories agreed it would be implemented and the two spaces would be come one. A free election was held and unanimously it was implemented.
Directly after the elections the senate was elected and they elected me( Ahrrael Jarok) as the head of the Head of the Romulan Military. I began looking for a member of the old Tal'Shiar that was capable and honorable for the Head of the Tal'Shiar. Then one day I met him... Lord Stark. He was the new head of Tal'Shiar...my counter part.
While looking for a Minister of Internal Affairs I was working on making up for lost time. I signed a treaty with the Federation and the Cardassians to vow protection of the Alpha Quadrant. This lasted for about a month and things went down hill when the Cardassians signed with the Dominion.
After that a treaty was signed with the Hydran Kingdom, our neighbors to the west on a two demensional map, relations with the us and them became quite good. When Uhlass, of the Hydrans, came to Stark with the proposal of the United Alliance. The Romulans quickly joined the Alliance for we believed that the known space need a united place to speak their minds and to protect one an other. This like the treaty with the Cardassians quickly died out and currently we are working on a new meeting organization...The Coalition.
